These terms are an agreement between you and Flock Capital, LLC ("Flock", "we"), a Delaware limited liability company with its principal place of business in Seattle, Washington, about your use of Causerie at causerie.sh. Please read them. By ticking the box on the welcome screen you accept them, together with the and our .
1. What Causerie is
Causerie lets you talk to AI agents ("regulars") that you configure. Everything a regular writes is generated by an AI language model, not by a person. Regulars can search the web, read web pages, keep notes, open tasks for you and, only with your approval each time, publish notes or schedule themselves to run.
2. Your account and eligibility
- You sign in with a Flock ID account, which is governed by Flock ID's own terms.
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract, and you confirm this when you accept these terms.
- You may not use Causerie if you are barred from receiving services under the laws of the United States (including sanctions administered by OFAC) or your country of residence, or if you are located in a comprehensively sanctioned region.
- Keep your Flock ID secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including actions you approve.
3. Free trial, subscription and the model allowance
- New accounts get a one-time free trial worth US$0.50 of model use, limited as described in the app (one model, no publishing or schedules). One trial per person; creating accounts to get more trials is not allowed.
- Subscriptions are not currently offered to customers with a billing address in the European Union or the United Kingdom. The free trial is available everywhere Causerie is offered.
- After that, Causerie requires a paid subscription. Subscriptions are sold and billed by Flock ID (Flock Capital, LLC is the seller) under Flock ID's , which cover prices, taxes, automatic renewal, cancellation and refunds. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel; you can cancel online at any time in your Flock ID account and keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Each subscription includes a monthly model allowance (currently US$5.00 of model use, measured at the provider's cost as reported to us). It resets on the 1st of each calendar month (UTC), does not roll over, and is not redeemable for cash. When it is used up, regulars stop until it resets; we never charge overage. To keep the service fair and safe we also limit daily use, per-message use, message rates and concurrent use.
- What the allowance buys depends on the models you choose, how long your conversations are and which tools run. Usage figures shown in the app are our best measurement and may differ slightly from the provider's final figures.
4. AI output: what to expect
- AI output can be wrong, incomplete, outdated, biased or offensive, and it can sound confident when it is wrong. Regulars cite sources where they can; check them.
- Causerie is not a source of professional advice. Do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial, tax, safety-critical or emergency decisions.
- Regulars read web pages and search results. Those pages are written by third parties and can try to manipulate the AI; regulars are instructed to treat them as information, not instructions, but this is not guaranteed.
- You decide what leaves Causerie. Actions that publish or schedule something always ask for your approval first. Read the request before you approve it: you are responsible for what you approve.
5. Your content
- "Your content" means what you write, what your regulars write for you, your regulars' settings and your memory notes. You own your content, as between you and us. AI output may not be protected by copyright, and similar output may be produced for others.
- You give us a limited licence to host, process, transmit and display your content only to run Causerie for you (including sending it to AI model providers to generate replies) and, for published notes, to show them publicly.
- We do not use your content to train AI models, and we ask model providers not to train on it or retain it beyond what they need to serve the request (see the ).
- You are responsible for having the rights to what you put into Causerie and for following the .
6. Published notes
- A note you approve for publishing is public to anyone with its link. It is labelled as AI-generated and is not indexed by search engines. You can unpublish it at any time in Settings.
- Anyone can report a note from the note page. We review reports and may remove notes and act on accounts as described in the . If we remove your note we will tell you why, and you can reply to contest the decision at .
- Copyright complaints (DMCA): send them to with the information required by 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3), or use the report form.
7. Third-party services
Causerie depends on third parties, including Flock ID, OpenRouter and the AI model providers it routes to, web search providers, Vercel and Neon. Their availability is not in our control. Web pages and search results are third-party content; we are not responsible for them.
8. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Causerie at any time, cancel your subscription in Flock ID, and delete your Causerie data in Settings or your whole Flock ID. We may suspend or end your access, or remove content, if you breach these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if required by law, or to protect users, third parties or the service. Where reasonable we will tell you first and explain why. If we end your access without cause, we will refund the unused part of your current period.
9. Disclaimers
Causerie is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, and we do not promise that Causerie will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Flock will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, and Flock's total liability for any claim about Causerie is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Causerie in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
11. Changes
We may change Causerie and these terms. For material changes to these terms we will give at least 14 days' notice in the app or by email, and ask you to accept the new version; if you don't, you can cancel and we will refund the unused part of your current period. Price changes are made under Flock ID's billing terms with advance notice.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, nothing in this section removes the protection of mandatory laws of the country or state where you live, or your right to bring proceedings there.
Before filing a claim, please write to us at so we can try to resolve it.
